This month Q Magazine throws open its doors to the pop culture icon of 2009. This is Cheryl Cole as you've never seen her before.
In an all-new exclusive shoot and interview, Q sets to work on a dark Sin City-inspired creation, transforming the Geordie lass into a rock 'n' roll heroine, fit for the big screen.
Q's Editor-in-Chief, Paul Rees comments "Q has always prided itself on featuring pop and rock stars who are at the very top of their game on its cover. Given that Cheryl Cole is not only currently the UK's undisputed first lady of pop, but also a genuine cultural phenomenon, we very much wanted to capture that moment."
"From the outset we wanted to capture a different Cheryl Cole. Given her background and how she's pulled herself up from it, there was evidently steel beneath the glamour. Hence, we wanted our photo shoot with her to reflect that - to portray her as sexy, obviously (and she really hasn't come close to an ugly stick), but also as strong and in control. Appropriating the look and feel of the movie Sin City was the perfect platform to do all of that, I think."
