Foreign Office - Voices
Voices and Leaving The House are two tracks chosen to illustrate the many talents of Foreign Office, in their double A sided debut single. In stores on 29th March, this effort encompasses an array of influences, from Hot Chip to Talking Heads. Leaving The House is an agoraphobic head thumping house tune with a hint of funk.
Today's choice is Voices, with a choppy beat reminiscent of Bloc Party's The Prayer, and some intelligent wordplay to accompany the winning formula. The release coincides with a remix competition. Budding producers are encouraged to run amok and create something special with the stems which are available here
Before you frantically cut the track up and remix it, give it a good listen. Voices is after all a great dance track with Numan-esque electro and soulful riffs going hand in hand, while the swirling vocals will leave you more paranoid than Stalin. The band themselves describe the song as being "pure sex for your ears", how can you resist this aural pleasure?
