Glastonbury Emerging Talent winner announced

Ellen And The Escapades were crowned winners of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition this weekend, booking themselves a spot at Glastonbury Festival this Summer.

Over 4000 people watched the final as it was webcast live from Pilton last weekend, where the band's beguiling alt. folk triumphed. Surprised about their win, the band commented "When we got the call telling us we'd won, the reaction was shock first, then tears, manic laughter and whoops of joy! Massive thanks to everyone there: we loved the whole Pilton experience and winning is the sweetest icing on an already awesome cake!"

The Glastonbury ETC judges were also complimentary in their praise "The standard of the acts was fantastic over the whole weekend, but in the end it was a unanimous decision. Ellen And The Escapades gave a wonderful performance, driven by great songwriting and Ellen's stunning voice. We're really looking forward to seeing them down here at the Festival in June."

It's also expected that several of the other finalists will be offered slots at the Festival by the various stage bookers who attended the finals. Keep an eye on the the Q and Glastonbury websites for more news on that.
