My Luminaries - Parasol
My Luminaries are no strangers to Q, having won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition Early Bird Place recently. The group are now set to release their debut single Parasol on March 22nd and after a long wait, their debut album will follow on 7th June.
Order From The Chaos is the title given to the debut, but this would also be an accurate summation of events leading up to its release. The group initially formed in 2004 but after an ill-fated development deal it took until 2008 before material which could be used on their debut was finally written. In January 2009 My Luminaries finally made it into the studio to record the debut. What came out of these sessions was their frustrated desire to finally be heard, perhaps explaining some of the passion apparent in their music.
Champions of the band include BBC DJ's Edith Bowman and Tom Robinson. Parasol has been a fan favourite for some time making it the prime candidtate for their first single. The melodic guitar stabs and intermittent piano outbursts make Parasol one of the warmest moments of the debut.
Keep an eye on My Luminaries myspace as a list of build-up tour dates are expected to be announced before the pinnacle that will be the Glastonbury performance. In the meantime here's the freshly completed video.

The write up is inaccurate and this band were heaps better with the old line up. Great song, shame the other guys don't get any credit for it.

Brilliant track by an awesome band. Try and catch them live. They've never sounded better. The album is superb. Get it when it comes out in June and put a smile on your face.

Great band, great track.
The old line up were great but they are even better now.
The album (recorded by the old line up) is brilliant.
If there is any justice this band will be bigger than the likes of Coldplay and Keane within a year. Lets hope. Make sure you catch them on tour or Glastonbury.

Im not bothered about line ups as long as the heart of the band is there (Songwritter & Singer). I checked the album out on Spotify and its easily better then the rubbish being released by record companies...infact its one of the band albums i have heard in years and these guys deserve lots of success and i for one will be checking them out live at some point!
