Mademoiselle Caro & Franck Garcia - Drive

Comments

Mademoiselle Caro is a songwriter and Parisian DJ, a key resident at the famed Rex Club for over five years. The club has previously hosted regular gigs from both Daft Punk and Phoenix. Caro met Franck Garcia in 2006 while clubbing and the two hit it off, deciding to collaborate, eventually releasing their debut in 2008. Pain Disappears was an acclaimed album, spawning one of Resident Advisor's top remixes with Dead Souls. Garcia himself had found success in the mainstream while writing pop arrangements for fellow French artists.

Left, their second release together, combines the electro elements of Caro craftily with the pop sensibilities of Garcia. Comparable to The Whitest Boy Alive with the beats of Hot Chip thrown in, they are a versatile duo. Left is pop driven with infectious hooks, but still has all the versatility expected when two artists from very different backgrounds come together. Drive is a stomping dance floor number with distorted vocals and an incredible guitar hook.

Soldiers, the second single from sophomore album Left is out now. It's also been remixed by Scottish DJ/Producer The Revenge & Ben Watt. Here's a live acoustic rendition of that below.

The duo are already confirmed to play Bestival.
