Fyfe Dangerfield - She's Always A Woman
Fyfe Dangerfield may well feel like King Midas at the moment, everything musical he touches seems to be golden. As the driving force behind Guillemots, Fyfe had a Mercury nominated album in 2006, and a top ten follow-up with the second, Red. With self-proclaimed celebrity fans spanning from the likes of Keith Flint to Paul McCartney, this classically trained musician gives eclecticism an extremely broad appeal.
The front-man released his more stripped back solo debut Fly Yellow Moon earlier this year and was once again met with critical acclaim. Due to its impact, a re-release is out now containing bonus material including today's track She's Always A Woman. The song, a Billy Joel cover, was originally written for his wife Elisabeth who had taken over the management of his finances. Elisabeth was ruthless in the boardroom if the lyrics are to be believed.
She's Always A Woman provides the background music to one of the year's most pervasive advertising campaigns, with over half a million views on Youtube alone (and counting), Fyfe Dangerfield has struck lucky again. The song is now a top ten hit adding further to his successful repertoire and no doubt earning him some gold in the process. It'll be interesting to see what the Guillemots do next, in the meantime here's that song without the ad.
