Glasto Special: LCD Soundsystem - Drunk Girls

The driving force behind LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy, may look gloomy in his mud covered wellies but be prepared to be amazed on The Other Stage when he performs his well-rehearsed genre fusing dance group. Murphy the co-owner of DFA records, has had huge success over the course of this three album project, but alas all good things must come to a close and this may well be the last chance for many fans to see them.

This is Happening marks an end to the LCD Soundsystem era. After coming to prominence with the grammy nominated debut including the brilliantly witty Losing My Edge, Murphy is keen to call it a day. The record has ensured a bang rather than a whimper will mark the end of an era.

First single Drunk Girls loudly proclaimed a return, while opener Dance Yrself Clean is a steady building electric explosion. Future single I Can Change is a brilliant mix of post-punk drums and 80's synth electro, all complimented with Murphy's melancholy lyrics about trying to readapt to love. Old favorites Someone Great and Yeah will be aired ensuring a vibrant reaction from the crowd.

  • I found that it is awards winning for an artist to not to run a website because an artist can save so much time into his or her art.
