Lauren Pritchard - Painkillers

This Jackson Tennessee born, 22-year-old London based solo artist, has had quite a journey over the past few years. She has recently dueted with the legendary Paul Weller onstage during his In Concert Radio 2 session and has featured on the B-side track, How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You, to his new single.

When she's not serenading Paul Weller, she can be found writing and recording in the studio with an unlikely accomplice, Professor Green. The two hit it off backstage and are now due to perform together at the Proud Gallery's 2nd Birthday for MENCAP on June 23rd. Painkillers, the title track to her new EP set to be released on 9th August, also features another artist of urban ilk. Questlove, the iconic drummer of Philadelphia's long running rap entourage, The Roots, takes the sticks and plays on the record.

Production is taken care of by Eg White. He has previously worked on such notable releases as Adele's Grammy winning hit, Chasing Pavements and also Duffy's worldwide hit, Warwick Avenue.Lauren Pritchard has also had a little help along the way from Lisa Marie Presley, whom she lived with for eight months after running out of money in LA after forming a band aged 16.

Some may recognise Pritchard already as she enjoyed a successful two year stint as a performer in the musical Spring Awakening. The musical saw Pritchard move to New York, while still allowing her time to focus on her music. After coming across one of her demos, Eg White was blown away and Lauren decided to relocate once more to work with him. The two enjoy a fruitful relationship with her debut album, Wasted In Jackson, being recorded just one year after her move to London.
