The Leonard Cohen documentary Bird On A Wire has recently been re-mastered and re-released. Aswell as a Q and A with producer Steven Machat coming shortly we are giving you the chance to win one of five copies on DVD.
Bird On A Wire documents Cohen's 1972 twenty city tour that began in Dublin and ended in Jerusalem. Originally briefly shown back in '74, the original film stock had been lost before over 290 rolls of film were discovered. It has now been remastered from the original footage after 38 years by producer Steven Machat, son of the late Marty Machat, Leonard's lawyer. The film is directed and edited by Tony Palmer who worked on the original and has also worked with the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix among others.
Watch the preview of the documentary below and shortly check out our Q + A with producer Steven Machat here, where he discusses Leonard and his father's relationship as well as his extensive music industry career representing artists as diverse as Ozzie Osbourne, Bobby Brown, Genesis, ELO, Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel.
