Dutch Uncles - Fragrant
Dutch Uncles are just one of many groups from Manchester this year to have media attention flung upon them as the city begins to see a resurgence in the number of new, exciting acts pushing things forward. Already Delphic, Hurts, The Whip, Everything Everything, and Egyptian Hip Hop have been taking praise from pundits. Now it is the turn of this five piece to jump into the frame.
Their penchant for precisely woven melodies and intelligent arrangements in a pop context has made the group firm favourites within the local music scene. Fragrant will be a first release on Memphis Industries and is available from 11 October. The track is another well thought out, tempo changing, complex release but is nonetheless accessible for it.
Contempories including Foals should take note as another distinctive sound emerges. The band are currently working on their debut in between a busy touring schedule supporting Sky Larkin and aforementioned compatriots Everything Everything. The full LP is expected to be ready for your ears by the spring of next year.
