Freelance Whales - Hannah
Freelance Whales debut album Weathervanes is a delightful pop record created by a New York five piece who play an interesting array of instruments to cultivate enticing harmonies and rhythm patters that fans of Owl City would love.
Their smooth chart orientated brand of music could earlier be witnessed on the streets and subways of their hometown where the group would regularly perform, making people forget trains in the process. From this apprenticeship a tour of the US and Canada eventually grew. This has seen the Freelancers working alongside Mumford And Sons, Shout Out Louds, and Cymbals Eat Guitars.
Hannah is a synth driven sparkle with fast paced witty vocals providing another melodic layer themselves. The falsetto verses, verging on a Wild Beast rap scenario, build to into a chorus aided by a much ,en vogue banjo. It is hard not to be seduced by this years well produced pop sensations.
