Jamiroquai - Blue Skies

The legendary masters of disco-funk Jamiroquai are back with a new album to be released on November 1. The seventh album by the trailblazers will be preceded by a limited edition track White Knuckle Ride, a lyrically retrospective hit looking at the life of Jay Kay's career experiences. This funky foot-stomp is then to be followed by the lead single Blue Skies, a slow paced soulful number which allows Jay's smooth vocals to come to the fore.

Jamiroquai's first album in five years promises to get back to the organic live band sound, with less reliance on studio effects. This shift in perspective has revitalised the group and created an engaging record which captures the essence of energetic performances we have come to know from them. Material was written entirely by the band and production was handled by Jay Kay with help coming from first time collaborators, Charlie Russell and Brad Spence.

Tonight the man with candy in his heels, and an an impressive array of extravagant hats will be showcasing new material to those quick enough to have bought tickets for the Q Awards gigs, a special run of four performances in the build-up to the ceremony in which Q honours the success of this year's musical giants.
