The Q Awards With Russian Standard Vodka 2010 - The Winners

The Awards 2009 with Russian Standard Vodka

The Q Awards 2010 saw an impressive list of talented musical talent all gathered in the same room to celebrate another fantastic year. Paul McCartney accepted the classic album award for Band On The Run saying, "to all the young bands out there...which is pretty much everyone...keep rocking! I love you."

Florence Welch was a the success story though as she managed to scoop two awards. The red-haired icon won gongs for both the Best Trackof the year sponsored by Barclaycard Unwind and also the overall award for Best Female . Elsewhere the Best Album prize was in the hands of Brooklyn-based outfit, The National for their incredible breakthrough record High Violet. Meek frontman Matt Berninger thanked Q for the award and dryly claimed the group had now found superstardom. All the members of Take That turned up, including Robbie, to be accepted into Q's Hall Of Fame. • Kasabian Rock!
The whole concept of awards is that a consensus or majority select the winners. To disagree is one thing but sour grapes because you do not share the common view is just being lousy.
The fact that Kasabian are the best act in the world has been appreciated by the majority.
Applaud the winner and get over it.

  • I'm just not getting the fuss being made about Florence and the Machine. I'd argue to a degree with most of the selections here (cough, Green Day, cough!) but for God's sake, how is Florence and the Machine doing this? The second album must lift the wool from over the world's eyes - it simply must! Well, I'm predicting an almighty flop.

  • If truth be told,The National should have won best album back in 2005 for Alligator, but Oasis won for the truely awful 'Don't Believe The Truth'....Nice to see them finally get the recognition they deserve

  • Bryan Ferry is such a massive legend, brilliant to see him getting the icon award, and it's great that Noel Fielding got to present it too (I'm a big fan of The Fielding) because I know how much he admires him.

Kadabian are absolute geniuses and totally dserve their award, I have no idea why people are having a go at them :L
