The National - Terrible Love

The Awards 2010 Best Album was a hotly contested category at this year's ceremony with strong competition in all areas. The winning record, The National's High Violet, was one of the most anticipated albums of the year, and certainly lived up to the high expectations with which it was met after predecessor Boxer piled on the pressure by proving to be a huge breakthrough.

Now the amazingly successful fifth release is to be expanded with a bonus disc including two new tracks, alternative versions of their previous work, B-sides, and live performances. The new package is to be made available from 22 November with the second version of Terrible Love coming out as a single on the same day.

The accompanying video-diary charts the journey of a Brooklyn based band who are touring the world and finding friends in all four corners while also coming to terms with the absurdity of an achievement which has made middle-aged men into newly found 'stars'. Watch as modest frontman Matt Berninger gets used to playing huge venues and hugging young, attractive female fans who approach him in the streets.

The behind-the-scenes footage reminiscent of Vincent Moon's previous documentary, shows life on the road and the build up to their performance of Fake Empire in support of Barack Obama in his campign for the presidency. Also there's a glimpse of Berninger's kung fu warm up before shows and then his erratic onstage antics, not to mention his increasing reputation for delving into the crowd.
