The Awards 2010 - Q Idol - Madness
Madness took away the award with Jim Jeffries and Wilco Johnson presenting. Al Murray described the winners as "One of the greatest bands of all time," before a montage of their greatest work was played to a lively audience.
Al Murraay was all hugs as Suggs and the band joined him onstage.
"You usually get one of these awards when you're career's coming to an end, so I'm going to have to admit...We're making a new album," laughed the group as they collected their Idol award to a round of applause.

Well. It's ironic that McCartney should win a backdated award for Band on the Run, when if truth be told, without his work with the Beatles, he'd have been anonymous and labelless like Madness have been in the past. If Lennon/McCartney had written Norton Folgate, Mojo and Q's journalists would have had to stock up on reinforced underpants to cope with the bladder weaknesses following its release. The Q Idol award? Sorry, but what the hell is that in the grander scheme of things? Also, they showed a montage of Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love and stuff that was realesed when I wore nappies. The only concession was a 5 second clip of Dust Devil. This award is the bare minimum that this band should receive. Honestly, it's a disgrace that the band were not Mercury nominated for The Liberty of Norton Folgate, and the Brit committee can "do-one" as far as I'm concerned.

Quite simply the greatest band of all time. Well done boys you really do deserve the award. Still beggers believe though, why one of the most BRITISH of bands, still havn't got a BRIT.
