Islington Boys Club - Pristine
Islington Boys Club are an exciting four-piece from north London who have shared stages with the likes of Is Tropical, Dark Horses, and O. Children during their small time together developing at a pace on the road. The culmination of this journey is to be a double A sided release, with both Plastic 16, and Pristine, our Track of the Day, being made available from 22 November.
Being fronted by the powerfully high vocal range of front man Andy Lovelee gives the raw gutiar driven sound a new context, similar in style to Siouxsie Sioux, and also makes for an incredibly enticing hook. Lovelee's reputation preceeded him as it was his sister who told the band about his bold on-stage persona. Lovelee was practically enlisted before his arrival into the country from overseas.
The group then bonded over a mutual liking for East London's vibrant music scene and have gone on to play in many of its prestigious underground venues including perforamances at The Stag & Dagger and 1234 Shoreditch festivals this year. What they have in common sonically includes a mixture of early punk edge and the ability to craft a chorus which is involuntarily indelible on the brain.
