Coldplay set for Glastonbury 2011

Comments

Coldplay have been officially confirmed as one of the three main stage headliners for Glastonbury Festival 2011.

The band will play the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday June 25.

Announcing the addition, Glastonbury co-organiser Michael Eavis said: "This is the triumphant return of a band that everyone here feels part of."

The appearance will be their fourth having previously headlined in 2005 and 2002, three years after first appearing at the festival.

There are still unconfirmed rumours that U2 will perform at the event in lieu of last year's cancelled appearance. Beyonce's record company have also been reported as saying that she will play the event though no official confirmation has been made.

Glastonbury goers can expect to hear tracks from Coldplay's forthcoming album, which was recorded with Brian Eno and Markus Dravs.
