Radiohead have announced the release of a new album, The King Of Limbs this coming Saturday, February 19.
The band announced the record on their official website this morning with the album being available to pre-order now from KingOfLimbs.com. The digital versions of the album will be made available on Saturday with the deluxe physical version being available from May 9. A 12"/CD version will be available in retail stores from March 28 on XL Recordings.
Billed by them as perhaps the world's first newspaper album, the newspaper version package will come with two 12 inch vinyls, a cd version and "many large sheets of artwork."
In a slight modification of the format for 2007's In Rainbows, the digital only versions will cost six pounds (Mp3) or nine pounds (Wav) rather than a pay-what-you-wish format.
The album titles relates to an oak tree in Savernake Forest, Wiltshire that is believed to be 1,000 years old. It is close to Tottenham House, where Radiohead previously recorded part of In Rainbows. A similar phrase also appears in the Qur'an.
More album details on the King Of Limbs website.

No doubt this will be every bit as BORING as all the others - but of course you guys in the press can't see through it as everything they come up with is always hailed as the best thing since sliced bread..............

Fantastic they kept it a surprise again. The download formats are priced where they should be and the newspaper format is great news for the dedicated fan. But what about those of us who want a standard priced physical copy? I hope a CD follows this release like it did In Rainbows.
