Esperi is Chris Lee-Marr, a multi-instrumentalist from Scotland, who's own take on folk and folktronica has already seen him supporting KT Tunstall, James Yorkston, Johnnny Flynn and Olaf Arnolds amongst others, as well as seeing the Dundee-based artist becoming a regular at Scottish Festivals.
The video for My Tear Dissolved The View complements this instrumental (bar odd background snippets of voice aside) perfectly. Whilst this type of electronic music often feels as though it inhabits it's own slightly ethereal world, Esperi delivers up their version of that world in the video for My Tear Dissolved The View, mixing illustration and video footage that makes sand dunes in Ireland look more akin to a different planet, with the aid of cartoon-like giant plants and all sorts. Other compositions online by Esperi (see Last.Fm), indicate another strand of Lee-Marr's songwriting, shifting the emphasis from the ebbing and flowing, tinkling, instrumental electronics to a more straightforward but still warm and homespun sounding acoustic-guitar-led alt.folk with a vocal and lyrical style that is direct and uncomplicated, erring earnestly on the likable side of naive.

Esperi is planning to tour Britain shortly, with several dates already confirmed. More information on the Esperi MySpace page.
