The songwriter and performer behind the moniker Sea Of Bees is Sacramento native Julie Baenziger.

Possessed with a spellbinding voice, that has at times, been compared (including by ourselves) as having a Joanna Newsom-like quality.

Just released in the UK her debut album Songs For The Ravens has been garnering positive critical reaction from all quarters. Her considerable talents have not gone unnoticed amongst fellow musicians with former Grandaddy member Jason Lytle describing it as having "mysterious, wonderful, and addictive qualities" and former Czars frontmanJohn Grant inviting her to support him on tour in the coming months.

Ahead of her first headline dates in the UK, we asked her to pick some of her favourite songs and influences for us to share with Q readers via a Spotify playlist - and here are said picks.

Vetiver - Everyday
This song to me, is perfection. Andy Cabic writes so perfectly about being away from your loved one and I completely feel what he is saying. He is inspiring.
