Between Thursday 19 and Saturday 21 May, Liverpool Sound City will take place across 30 venues in the city, including the St George's Hall, Bombed Out Church and Cathedral Crypt. Over 300 bands are expected to perform including Black Lips, Miles Kane, Frank Turner, Jamie XX, Cast, Spank Rock, Steve Mason, Funeral Party, Wretch 32, Young Knives, The Whip, Wave Machines and many, many more, creating a metropolitan festival like no other.
Liverpool, Europe's 2008 Capital of Culture, has enjoyed a cultural, architectural and societal renaissance which has seen boutique shops and hotels, amazing restaurants and museums all converge and grow in the city. 2011's LSC features the 50th anniversary exhibition of the iconic Mersey Beat newspaper as well as the return of the John Peel World Cup. There's also a full conference with global keynote speakers addressing key issues facing the music industry, and a dedicated youth programme which encourages the region's young people into all facets of the music industry, from bands to technology.
