Ever been to Kentucky? Me neither, but that's where rockers Cage The Elephant hail from, and they're back again with a vibrant new track. Around My Head, from their well-received second album, Thank You, Happy Birthday, is full to the brim with lavish indie-esque hooks, but losing none of the garage rock heaviness that gave them their initial ascension to popularity.
Beginning with a bit of energized shouting from front man Matt Schultz - who sounds a bit like a young, ADHD-riddled Bob Dylan - it builds up to a typically grand chorus. Cage the Elephant have modified their sound slightly, filling their songs with more quirky nuances, but this song recalls their louder, brasher moments, full of fuzzy guitars and pounding drums that underpin its wonderfully bright and summery feeling.

Well, where should I start? I've never been to KY, US but that's my next destination after Reading Festival (for MUSE) cos that's where my best friend lives. Well, she had the chance to see them live and had a photo with front man Matt.. And I'm telling ya that CTE are damn great top guys.. I've got both albums and every time I hear them I'm like "oh that's a very unique sound". Thus, THIS IS A PWOPAH SONG! I'll see them on August 28th and I can't wait... Hell yeah!
cheers from Greece

To me his sound is more like James Newell Osterberg (Iggy pop) than Bob Dylan.
