Two Spot Gobi - Simon's Song

Comments

At first listen, you might think that Brighton six-piece Two Spot Gobi are going to be like every other pop-folk band emerging at the moment, but there is something different about this band. For starters, their line-up includes a trumpet player and a cellist - not the standard for most folk band line ups.

Simon's Song is an uplifting summer anthem that tugs a little on the heart strings as it reminds you that 'everything will be alright.' From the very beginning, the song, which was drawn from a conversation with a friend who had been serving in the Middle East and whose video features Olympic fencer Laurence Halstead, who'll be competing in Team GB for 2012, has the power to lift any dampened mood. it's taken from their brand new album The Sun Will Rise, which also promotes a positive outlook on life with its thoughtful lyrics and sunny, surf-pop melodies. So far, Two Spot Gobi have toured with the likes of Bruno Mars and Newton Faulkner, and it looks like they could well be on their way down the path of similar success.
