Fresh off the back of their biggest headline show to date at London's Scala, Wave Pictures will be releasing new single Blue Harbour on 7" through Moshi Moshi records on June 13. Two and a half minutes long, the song's retro-sounding upbeat guitar chords mix with some quite bizarre - but nonetheless highly entertaining - lyrics. "We pissed in the sea and pretended to drown one another", anyone?
Clearly, Wave Pictures are a band not interested in the characteristics of other mediocre indie/alternative artists these days, but who are fairly straight to the point with their music and enjoy what they do. And, over ten years on from when they first started, they sound just as fresh, invigorating and invigorated as ever. A delightful taster from the ever-prolific and ever-delightful trio.
