Fixers - Swimmhaus Johannesburg

Comments

If Oxford based Fixers ran a nightclub the playlist policy would be pretty diverse.

Self declared fans of Japanese pop, Brian Wilson, late 70s New York dance grooves and middle eastern music, among plenty of other artists and genres, the group somehow manage to incorporate all these sounds in their music, yet remain greater than the sum of their parts.

To prove that point, check out the band's next single, the internationally titled Swimmhaus Johannesburg, below (out August 22).

"We wanted to blend Italo-disco with Japanese pop," declares the band's Jack Goldstein. "There is definitely some early 90s influence in there, a little tropicalia and some Beach Boys harmonies."

With a debut album currently under construction, it's safe to say from this example that Fixers' horizons are only going to get broader.
