Pulp hint at hiatus at Wireless Festival - then announce new gig

Comments

Pulp may have left the stage at Hyde Park's Wireless Festival last night (3 July) telling the London crowd they'd see them again in "15 years" - but it seems what they really meant was "next month".

Having headlined the event with a greatest hits set that included Do You Remember The First Time, Babies, Disco 2000 and set closer Common People, frontman Jarvis Cocker suggested the band's summer reunion maybe be just that - a summer fling.

"We'll see you in another, ooh I don't know, 15 years?" he teased the crowd towards the climax of the set, but this morning it was announced that he and his band will in fact be back in the capital on Wednesday 31 August, warming up for their Reading And Leeds Festivals co-headline slot (27-29 August) with a show at the 02 Academy Brixton.

Tickets for the band's only UK indoor show so far this year - they've played the Isle Of Wight and Glastonbury amongst the elements in 2011 - go on sale on Friday (8 July) at 9am. See Aloud.com for details.
