WU LYF - Such A Sad Puppy Dog (album track exclusive)

Comments

Following on from our colleague Niall Doherty's column on why Wild Beasts were a glaring omission from the Mercury Prize shortlist, it was also a bit of a surprise that Manchester's WU LYF weren't included.

Perhaps their self released (they turned down a host of record deals to go it alone) debut album Go Tell Fire To The Mountain wasn't entered, but as this stream of album track Such A Sad Puppy Dog shows, underneath all the apparent hype and the mysterious months of no interviews, lies a vital new British talent who have indeed made one of the albums of 2011 (and we're saying that in July).

With UK dates planned for October and a new North American tour to follow in November, hopefully plenty of people will now get the chance to discover first hand just why WU LYF's darkly euphoric moods are so compelling.

Head to Wulyf.org for music and information on the World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation.
