Bombay Bicycle Club preview new album of "better stuff" with session

Comments

Bombay Bicycle Club believe they are back to what they do best with new album A Different Kind Of Fix, after taking a detour with acoustic album Flaws last year.

The band, release their latest record on 29 August, spoke as they recorded an Bands In Transit session, from which Q has the song Beggars exclusively which you can watch below.

Talking about the acoustic record, guitarist Jamie MacColl said the band feel more comfortable plugging in a bit more.

"We had a lot of those songs [from Flaws] sitting around...not saying I don't like I just think, as a band, we do the other stuff better," he explained.

However proving the he was not disowning the last record, MacColl explained that Beggars actually had its roots in Flaws.

"It's probably the closest song to anything on Flaws. It was written at the same time," he said of the track which features on A Different Kind Of Fix. "There are a mixture of songs on that album and I think you can probably tell the ones that were written just after the first album, the ones that were written around Flaws and then the new ones like [former track of the day] Shuffle that are a bit more electronic, so hopefully with all of that the album appeals to a lot of people."
