Katy Perry, Beyonce, Adele, Lady Gaga... the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 in 200 words

Comments

Katy Perry, Adele and Lady Gaga were among the winners at this year's MTV Video Music Awards held on Sunday night (28 August). There ceremony and TV show goes on for two hours. Let Q take you up through the key points in roughly 200 words

Gaga performed with Brian May, who despite tough competition from Adele's bouffant and Katy Perry's purple hair-do, still had the most absurd follicles of all.

Tyler The Creator meanwhile picked up the award for Best New Artist, sending his own mother into an Exorcism-style screaming frenzy. Watch the mesmerizing footage of her reaction below.
