The Pierces must be feeling pretty chuffed they didn't do the whole splitting up thing.
Having been often well thought of without actually setting the world alright earlier in their career, Allison and Catherine Pierce toyed with the idea of going their sperate ways in 2009.
Instead they made this year's You & I with Coldplay's Guy Berryman producing. Not only has it found them a place inside the Top Ten, but it's seen the duo draw ever bigger crowds at this summer's festivals suggesting a bright future.
Key to that is It Will Not Be Forgotten (released on 8 August), which The Pierces say was central to their whole turnaround.
"It Will Not Be Forgotten was one of the first tracks that we recorded on our new album," they say. "It came together almost effortlessly because we all had a clear vision for the sound and direction that the song should take. It was magical in a way and set the standard for the creation of rest of the songs."
