Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody: "Chasing Cars was a diamond in the shit" - Q Awards video
Gary Lightbody says he can't really remember the night he wrote Chasing Cars.
Speaking in a video interview you can watch above, the Snow Patrol leader admitted the evening he wrote the song was a bit hazy as he picked up the Classic Song presented by Zippo at yesterday's (24 October) Q Awards for the tracl.
"It was all a blur of red wine and Percocet, no it was a good night of writing," Lightbody joked. "I wrote about ten songs and that was one of them. When I listened back to it the next day nine songs were shit and then Chasing Cars shown out like a diamond in the shit. It's become the everybody's wedding song... it belongs to the collective consciousness now which is amazing.|
