Monday, 18 October - 6 days to go until the 2011 Q Awards

The Stone Roses look set to confirm that that are reuniting next year (possibly in June if we're deciphering the cut off letters on the invite to the announcement with any degree of accuracy) this afternoon at a press conference in London around 2pm (BST). We'll bring you the news as it happens, though so far the rumours suggest there will be gigs in Manchester, possibly a new album, but drummer Reni will not be involved... or possibly not, and Babylon Zoo have fooled the whole world when it turns out it's their return which is being announced today. Let's hope not, as in a poll of Qthemusic users, 67 per-cent of you say you want Ian Brown and co to reunite. Have your say now.

Although the band aren't planning anything several days long, they do have a new track called Reconstruction (b-side to new single Deconstruction) which is 15 minutes. The band have also confirmed their second album will be called Rooms Filled With Light and it's out on 27 February next year.

We can't better the pun here, so let's us simply repeat "No More Red Weine UB40 Declares Bankruptcy". Let's hope it doesn't lead to any P45s, that would be a DHSS civil servant's nightmare.

Morrissey has apparently revived his legal case against the NME. The former Smith is sueing the music weekly over a 2007 article in which he discussed immigration. "Question marks over my being a racist have never since receded," he explained in court papers. A judge is expected to decide today if the case should go to trial. Laywers for NME and former editor Conor McNicholas have argued the claim should be struck out.

Apparently bids for EMI - the record label and publishing house have been put up for sale by current owners Citigroup - have been lower than expected. Interested parties were invited to make an offer for the major label earlier this month but it's now unclear when the bank will make a decision as to whether it will sell, who it will sell to (the other majors are believed to have bid) or if they'll hang on to the home of Coldplay and co.

The original line-up of the Sugababes - remember them? No the Scouser wasn't an original and no Kerry Katona in Nuclear Cat or some such. Well Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan are rumoured to be reuniting. Which will you go for, Sugababes, Sugababes Classic or just look the other way and hope they both go away?

Noel Gallagher reckons people tweet too much. "I think in this age of information, there is just too much out there," he explained. "People talk too much, y'know, people tweeting, On the way to our first recording session, wearing a green jacket and red shoes, it's going to be great, album due out, and it's like, Don't tell me that... To me, magic is always better than anything. The not knowing and the anticipation of what you don't know is just incredible." Presumably then Noel isn't the one updating @noelgallagher.
