Editors frontman Tom Smith has revealed that the band are currently working on a new album, despite the singer taking time out to make a Christmas album with Andy Burrows (see above).
Smith was speaking as he reviewed next week's singles for Q Show on Q Radio this Sunday (30 October).
"Its still going to be fairly electronic, I think, compared to our earlier records," he said of the new album. "So far it feels quite muscular with a bit of swagger and a bit more of a groove. The last record was liberating in lots of different ways and I think we just need to, kind of, build on that..... with a nod to our past as well. Its our fourth record and we don't want to feel like we're doing the same thing again."
Tune in from 2pm (GMT) on Sunday he talks to Q's Paul Rees and reviews this week's singles including offerings from R.EM., The Vaccines and Death Cab For Cutie, while we also play selected highlights from this month's Q50. The show is also repeated on Tuesday (1 Novemvber) at 8pm (GMT).
Tune into Q Radio online.
