Eminem speaks candidly about coming to terms with his various addicitions and why he needed to get clean: "I've realised that the way I am helps with the music. Sporadic thoughts will pop into my head and I'll have to go write something down, and the next thing you know I've written a whole song in an hour. But sometimes it sucks, and I wish I was wired like a regular person and could go have a fucking drink. But that's the biggest thing about addiction: When you realise that you cannot - for fuck's sake, you can not - fuck around with nothing ever again. I never understood when people would say it's a disease. Like, Stop it, dickhead. It's not a disease! But I finally realized, Fuck, man - it really is."

EMI's recording division will be sold to Universe for $1.9bn, while its publishing arm will go to Sony for $2.2bn, owners Citigroup have announced. However, while the deal will now be subject to monopoly, mergers and anti trust inquiries, it is believed that should it go ahead EMI will be retained as a imprint within Universal. One person who appears to be happy with the deal is Lily Allen who tweeted "Nice to be on Universal" as it was announced, or possibly she was being ironic...

A Haus divided? All is not well within the world of Gaga it appears, as according to reports suggest she's fallen out with visual collaborator Laurieann Gibson over reality TV and religious references in videos. Oh and in May Gibson let slip that the Lady's style was originally based on Madonna which we can't imagine Gaga was too chuffed about. Still the spat didn't stop her appearing on X-Factor last night.
