Adele's 21 has overtaken Amy Winehouse's Back To Black to become the biggest selling album of the 21st century so far. The record has now sold 3.4 million copies since its release in January.

Madonna is set to perform at the Superbowl on 5 February. The Material Girl singer will be colaborating with Cirque du Soleil dancers for the half-time show which in previous years has boasted appearances from The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and Janet Jackson's nipple.

Bon Iver has been attacked by The Avalanches on Twitter for his comments about the Grammy Awards. The Australia act criticsed the singer for calling the awards "not important" in a recent interview and suggested his appearance in a whiskey advert was irresponsible and selling out. "A musicians 'art is compromised' if he/she desires a grammy," tweeted The Avalanches, "but endor$ing a product with proven devastating health risks is ok? a product which kills 100k p/a in the US alone..man kids look up to you." The exchange ended with both sides saying they were just up for a chat.

Animal Collective have begun work on a new album. "We're really excited about this record," explained the band's Avey Rare. "It's been really fun jamming with those guys again." The group are due to enter the studio in January.
