New Order are set to continue without Peter Hook, the band have suggested. Following several dates in Europe without their original bassist, the group played London's Troxy on Saturday and after a classic-packed set including the likes of Bizarre Love Triangle, Crystal, Blue Monday and Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart, the gig ended with frontman Bernard Sumner telling the crowd: "We'll be back, even without Freddie Mercury!"

Grinderman 'have split-up' according to reports coming from the Meredith Music Festival in Victoria, Australia. "That's it for Grinderman. It's over," Nick Cave told the crowd, before adding. "See you all in another 10 years when we'll be even older and uglier." Or next year, as Q understands Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are currently wrapping up sessions on a new album, and both acts do have a remarkably similar membership.

Jay-Z expects he and Kanye West will make another collaborative album like Watch The Throne after their next round of solo albums. "We're in a great place creatively," he explained. "You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year. You know, we're really in a great place creatively. We really found our zone."

Janelle Monae has been talking about her plans for a second album - while turning on the Christmas tree lights in her home town Kansas City.The singer says she hopes to release two albums next year... possibly. "I will release them according to my soul clock; so I reserve the right to change that," she said. "Right now all I can say is, the music comes from the space I'm in... I would say 84.799 percent of the writing is done."

The Stone Roses have confirmed they've signed a new record contract, with a new album now expected to accompany their reunion next summer.

There's also a new Nine Inch Nails record on the way, according to Trent Reznor: "Nine Inch Nails is not dead by any means but all the touring and record writing has been thrown off a little bit. I highly expect that to be the focus of 2012 in terms of writing and we may see a full-length release even."

Best Coast have parted ways with former Vivian Girl drummer Ali Koehler. "Best Coast has and always will be Bobb [Bruno] and I," said singer Bethany Cosentino of the change of staff. "No matter who has joined the band on tour, whatever lineup ensues, the band is simply the two of us. That said, these past two years have been full of nothing but the greatest of memorable adventures and I am so grateful that my friend Ali was a part of them when we were on tour."
