Following several dates in Europe without their original bassist, the group played London's Troxy on Saturday and after a classic-packed set including the likes of Bizarre Love Triangle, Crystal, Blue Monday and Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart, the gig ended with frontman Bernard Sumner telling the crowd: "We'll be back, even without Freddie Mercury!"

Grinderman 'have split-up' according to reports coming from the Meredith Music Festival in Victoria, Australia. "That's it for Grinderman. It's over," Nick Cave told the crowd, before adding. "See you all in another 10 years when we'll be even older and uglier." Or next year, as Q understands Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are currently wrapping up sessions on a new album, and both acts do have a remarkably similar membership.
