From inadvertently inventing new rave (it wasn't their fault), to cropping up within Grand Theft Auto with Timbaland on No Sex For Ben, while The Rapturehaven't always kept pace with New York contemporaries like The Strokes, they are continually one of the city's most interesting musical exports.
Taken from their excellent third album, this year's In The Grace Of Your Love, Sail Away leads off a EP's worth of remixes (released today, 12 December) that includes contributions from the likes of Cut Copy and Areoplane.
With the band now set to finish off their year with a fan controlled show (they vote for encore songs, etc) at Rowans Ten Pin Bowling Alley in London tonight, they have at least made sure that while Harold Camping's rapture might have been a let down (or a relief depending on your perspective), The Rapture have delivered in 2011.
