La Roux in the studio: 'Nile Rodgers' influence is making my second album sexy' - Q308 preview
La Roux's Elly Jackson insists her second album, which she's currently recording, will be "warm and sexy" thanks to Nile Rodgers and Chic.
Speaking in our new issue, Q308 which is on sale now, the singer explained she is working on ahead of a release later this summer.
"If there's a theme to this new album, it's that the music and the texture and the tone is going to feel warm and sexy," declares Jackson.
"My first album wasn't sexy at all - it was angular and hard. But I've been listening a lot of Nile Rodgers' productions for inspiration. They're not necessarily talking about sec but the music is... I don't hear that any more in music but I'd love to. So I thought, Fuck it, I'll do it myself."
