Welcome Appy Mondays! Yes it was the pun we (and to be honest quite a few other sites) couldn't ignore, so each week Al Horner showcases one music-based app that is genuinely useful, entertaining or simply downright clever...
The Vinyl District
Shopping/ location servies/ news
Whether you're exploring your hometown or in a strange city, you'll always know where the best record shops are thanks to The Vinyl District's app. Started in the US, but now including 300 UK stories, this app relies on a mix of curated recommendations and crowd sourced nods to bring you the nearest and best record store to you via GPS. Including all the regular social media plug-ins (Facebook, Twitter, etc), you can share discoveries with friends, which let's face it with this year's Record Store Day - and all its exclusive releases - on 21 April could be very useful indeed. For more info and links for iPhone and Android downloads, head to Thevinyldistrict.com.
