The Black Keys say their iconic video of a dancing car salesman for recent single Lonely Boy (above) actually came about by mistake.
The pair, who feature in our current issue, Q309 out now, explained that the video came about by accident after they hated their own performances.
"That's a small part of a larger video that we shot. That guy was one of six extras," explained guitarist Dan Auerbach. "There was a story line and Pat [Carney drummer] and I acted in it. But we hated the video.
"The we were like, Can you send us just that one guy dancing he was just great. He's reviving a lot of dance moves."
Get the current Q for the full interview with the pair (which also serves as the cover for our exclusive subscribers edition, below) now, which sees the duo frankly discussing their relationship, recent album El Camino and the Black Keys' future.
"Do we feel like rock stars? Nah, fuck rock stars," notes Auerbach of the pair's place in the world. "Grown-up babies , man."
