Eminem is to collaborate with DJ Premier on new material. The Brooklyn producer announced in a radio interview that he and Slim Shady (who made a cameo during Dr. Dre's Coachella performance on Sunday, above) are to record in Detroit, prompting speculation that a new album from the rapper is imminent.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are reportedly discussing the possibility of a stadium tour, bringing with them the 2pac hologram they used at the weekend's Coachella Festival. Meanwhile Shakur's mother is said to have been "positively thrilled" with the late rapper's 'performance' at the festival.

Editors guitarist Chris Urbanowicz has left the band, the group announced in a statement yesterday. "In a decision entirely based upon future musical direction, and with huge sadness, Editors and Chris Urbanowicz have parted ways," they explained.

Noel Gallagher's Coachella performance was almost derailed when festival staff threatened to refuse him entry over sleeping tablets found in his bag. "They pulled out my sleeping tablets and asked me to explain them. There were about 30 little yellow and white tablets," he said. "I said, In all seriousness Chuck, or whatever your name is, do you not think these would at least be down my sock? They are sleeping tablets."

Orbital's Paul and Phil Hartnoll have explained their mother's terminal cancer was a factor behind their 2008 reunion. "I didn't want to [Orbital] it any more," explained Paul Hartnoll. "I went off and travelled the world for a year with my daughter and my girlfriend at the time. The only reason that didn't go on is that is six weeks into it our mum got diagnosed with cancer and given nine months to live, so I came back. And a whole different life appeared."
