This week (4 June) Paul Simon's Graceland celebrates its 25th birthday with the release of a new edition featuring the record, a documentary about the album's making, Under African Skies, and more. To mark this anniversary for the first album ever to receive five stars from Q (way back in our first ever issue), each day this week Paul Simon himself introduces a different song from the album.
Boy In The Bubble
Paul Simon: "With Graceland I decided to make a track that I liked and then wrote the song. If I didn't like the song, I could erase it and start over again, but the track still is there. That's exactly what occurred with The Boy In The Bubble. I wrote an entirely different song, finished it and said, Well, the truth is I really don't like this."
