Playlist - Producers' "songs for the field" selection featuring Kate Bush, Neil Young, Police, Beatles & more

We've all heard of producers. We've all heard bands moan about producers. But really who are they? Well balancing things out, four knob twiddlers - Lol Crème, Trevor Horn, Stephen Lipson, and Ash Soan - have gone and made an album without any artists. The recently released Made In Basing Street (named after London's Sarm Studios) just finished features just the men who usual hide behind the mixing desk. To mark their emergence into the spotlight, the group's drummer Soan (second from the right) - who often drums for Horn when he's not tending to his "small holding" - has picked us a Playlist of songs for when you're in a field.
Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill
"In a world of X-Factor and The Voice, Kate's integrity as an artist shines through even more for me now."
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Might As Well Have A Good Time
"I wish I'd written this song, it's got a beautiful sentiment. Reminds me of the Norfolk coast line near my house."
The Police - No Time This Time
"Stewart Copeland's drums are just the best on this track. Incredible in the moment energy."
Sting - Shadows In The Rain
"Loved this record while studying music in Manchester, it's proper thought out music. Perfect for music students."
Little Feat - Long Distance Love
"Lowell sounds beautiful on this track. Can make a grown man cry."
The Beatles & AC/DC currently unavailable via Spotify
Donald Fagan - Ruby Baby
"The ultimate muso record. Love it! Featuring the great Jeff Porcaro on drums."
AC/DC - Back In Black
"Who doesn't like this record? It still sounds so good LOUD."
Neil Young - Harvest
"One of the great songwriters and great albums. Great album for the field...."
The Beatles - "The White Album"
"My personal favourite Beatles album."
Average White Band - Cloudy
"I have the pleasure of playing with Hamish Stuart from time to time and this is a great collection from the Scottish funketers. And clouds are hand if you're growing things."
