50 Cent was hospitalised after an accident on New York's Long Island Expressway on Monday night. The rapper was hurt after a truck collided with his SUV from behind. Fiddy, who tweeted several photos of his visit to A&E, was treated for neck and back injuries before his release from a hospital in Queens.

A musical based on The Spice Girls songs is set to open in London at the end of the year. Viva Forever was written by Jennifer Saunders and is being produced by Judy Craymer who was responsible for Mamma Mia. The musical will tell the story of a girl band who enter a TV talent show, but will apparently not feature the band, who though were present for the launch yesterday, admitted the cast "sing it better than us"

Elbow have announced they have written new song First Steps to soundtrack the BBC's coverage of the London Olympics this summer. "The closer the Olympics get, the more exciting it is and the more we realise what a massive thing it is to be asked to do that," explained keyboard player and producer Craig Potter. "So many people are going to hear it and it's going to be in the background of some momentous events, so we're really proud of it."
