The Summer Series At Somerset House in London is the festival for people who don't like mud or leaving cities and love nice, stately surroundings. Q is previewing all of this year's headliners with a series of interviews and today it's the turn of Katy B who plays in the courtyard on 8 July with Devlin and What Next. Head to Somersethouse.org.uk for more details including the latest ticket news.

Describe your 'sound' in three words:
"Katy Brien's diary."
How will you be travelling to the gig?
"I'll be coming straight from Wakestock festival, so probably on a smelly tourbus!"
What can we expect from your set outside in the London air at Somerset House?
"I love London when it's sunny and people come together, I really want to make the whole experience like an outdoor rave, and make people dance, shock out and be happy."
Is there anything you've got planned for the Somerset House show you can tell us about? Anything special?
"Well I don't want to ruin any surprises, just know I'm going to make it special."
Can you tell us about the acts on the bill with you?
"I have a lot of respect for Devlin, I think he's such a talented poet, when I got his album I really enjoyed reading the lyrics in his sleeve notes and think he's definitely one of the best MCs out there so I'm thrilled to be doing the show with him. P Money's album is sounding sick, so I'm looking forward to hearing some of it live, and Ms Dynamite is obviously a legend and a massive inspiration."
What one song of yours should we listen to get us in the mood for you show and why?
"Perfect stranger, I think that's my favourite song to perform."
The Royal Society used to be housed at Somerset House - what one scientific invention would transform your life and why?
"I've just had a fight with a false eyelash so a contraption to put on fake eyelashes in a flash would be great thank you. When I try to do them myself I end up with a tweezer and glue in my eye."
Where's your favourite place in London?
"I love Ruskin Park, I literately grew up there I was born in Kings Collage hospital next door, went to the one o'clock club, learned to play tennis and football there, then in my teenage years spent every day there practically. Now my aunt has opened up a cafe there too this summer so will definitely be hanging around at Ruskin this summer."
