Name: The Sex Pistols
Track name: God Save The Queen
Home town: London
Who? London's original awkward squad and punk pioneers The Sex Pistols.
Like these? Then try this: The Clash, The Libertines, PiL
Why now? As it's the Queen's diamond Jubilee this weekend - which means Monday and Tuesday are days off in the UK! - we thought we'd mark the occasion. Neil Young's new version of the national anthem (which we previewed last week) was an option, as was some punning around Blur's Jubilee from Parklife, but in the end we felt it was only right to mark this Royal occasion with a song written for the 1977 Silver Jubilee. Step forward John Lydon and co, not that the Queen has been in touch with her thoughts on their musical 'tribute'... yet.
Sounds like: Even after 35 years and those butter ads, it's still the pure sound of snarling rebellion
