"Japandroids' The House That Heaven Built won our Indie Song Of The Summer poll by such a wide margin - it had double the votes of the runner-up, Twin Shadow's Five Seconds - that it makes me wonder why it was such a no-brainer. To be sure, the song is stuffed with many moments opportune for fist-pumping or crowd-surfing, but I also think songs like The House That Heaven Built drum up peoples' favourite moments of their own personal music-listening histories, where sweating near a festival sidestage or blowing out your's car tinny speaker is just as good as heaven itself."
