Best of '12 so far week - The Quietus' Luke Turner picks Window Sill by Alexander Tucker
The Quietus's Luke Turner nominates...
Alexander Tucker - Window Sill
"Alexander Tucker used to play concerts brandishing a cello, dressed as a yeti and unleashing a fearsome, bong-addled noise. These days he finds himself on the Thrill Jockey label and concentrating his far-out energies into a strain of very British pastoral psychedelia, as heard recently on this excellent Third Mouth album. Window Sill is a case in point, a wooze of strings and gently propulsive acoustic guitar that gives the air of something more than your common-or-garden, waistcoat-and-banjo twee folk... this is music for the alien invaders to thresh the barleycorn to, 2243-style."
