Blur's Alex James does not believe their gigs this summer should be the end for the band - and hopes they record another album together.
Speaking to Miranda Sawyer in our new issue, Q314 which is on sale today, the bassist says that the group's Olympic show in Hyde Park on 12 August should not be their swansong.
"We need a grown-up record and Blur can do it," he declares. "Bands like Foo Fighters are still trying to appeal to teenagers. It feels like there's more gas in the tank for Blur, but I don't know.
"Sometimes I really do think that this might be the end. Still, plenty of operas for you to go and see."
So what do his bandmates think about Blur's future and the chances of another record?
Get Q314, out today, for our world exclusive cover story on Blur including Damon Albarn frankest interview yet on the subject of another album.
