LCD Soundsystem are set to reunite, just over a year after they split with a farewell gig. James Murphy has announced the group will reform to record... just one song... which will be a unnamed cover (cheeky headline, we know). The group's main man let slip that LCD have been invited to do a track for a film by an unnamed director friend which is something the band's members "seems to want to do". The incredibly brief reformation is not Murphy's only brush with Hollywood, as he also revealed he was up for a part in the aborted film adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's The Corrections. "I was potentially going to play Gary which I was excited about," explained Murphy, who was encouraged to go for the part by his director pal Noah Baumbach, who he scored Greenberg for. "But I don't think I was going to get it. Although since it didn't happen, Noah was like, Just say you got it. We didn't have another Gary."
